friday night news
the rest of my day? I bought a few paints & some plaster of paris for my art doll ~ bits for the chocolate swap ~ trims & braids for a bag that is in my head & some camellias to plant along my driveway ~ my week has come to an end
a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.
here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

I felt the same way when My daughter tried out cheer and didn't make it..i felt bad for her....but kindof relieved....cheer costs a fortune and takes up ALL of your time....including the parents time...
thing was she wasn't even all that upset about not making it..LOL
When the girls were younger I would be a nervous wreck when they wanted to run or try out for something. I look back and I was more nervous than they were and if they didn't get something I was more upset! LOL All the ups and downs made them wonderful adults that I am very proud of.
I too have consoled my daughter when she didnt get voted class captain ! Ive consoled my son when his first girlfriend dumped him ! They have both grown into wonderful adults...they need to experience the downs so they can rejoice in the ups. She did a wonderful job on the cupcakes !!
I think the fact she tried is great - you know "nothing ventured, nothing gained"? With each try at something there may be a failure now and then.... but the biggest failure would be not to have tried at all. So to me, Sophie is already a winner! :)

Those cupcakes look scrumptious! As for your daughter, it's a little sad, but it does seem like a very time-consuming position. And goodness knows, senior year is busy enough without added responsibilities!
As a parent, when my child feels pain, I feel it too…So I would always tell her everything is for a reason….and over time that statement has proven to be right. So now she maintains that thought and is way less disappointed when things don’t always go according to plan. Plus together we always ask ourselves, “What am I suppose to learn from this?” I'm sure something better will come along to replace your daughters disappointment!
Have a great weekend
Peace and giggles Sherrie
We have all hurt when are child hurts, but as you said there are times we win and times we do not. Some time in her life a bigger and better thing will come up and she will win, and this will only be a memory.
Your daughter is tops in my book just for having tried, and also for having made all those cupcakes!
Hooray for her!!!!!
She probably didn't win because something much better is waiting for her.
xoxo
Ha, I know what you mean. I remember by the time baseball playoffs were happening, I couldn't wait for the teen's team to lose so it would finaly be over with!! Love those cupcakes!! xoxo
