a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. suggestions, please?

if anyone out there in the big world of blogland, has any suggestions on how I can stop my constant worrying about global warming, our drought and lack of water here, the environment and humanity ~ please, please let me know.
Our Great Barrier reef is dying, according to one expert and there is nothing we can do about what is going to happen in the next 30 yrs or so - apparently the damage was done by our parents, in the 50's. Our media is bombarding us with Kyoto, the drought and the water summit, global warming & rising ocean temperatures.
I know that I can stop watching and listening and stick my head in the sand. I know that I can just worry about my little corner of the world in Woodford and forget the rest. I want to do that, yes I do! But then I feel selfish & guilty for not doing my bit.
Some have lights blazing, waste water but me? Oh, no - I run round like some kind of demented greenie turning off lights and watering with a watering can. I compost & recycle ! BUT does it help at all? I have been reading alot, on what we can do to help our planet but the little bit that we can do, seems to me, to be a futile attempt unless the big industries do their share. And the powers that be, begin to realize that this is serious business.
This worrying is beginning to affect my life - I feel such a lack of hope about the future of our planet.

Doing our own little bit is very important because all our own little bits to save the earth add up. I know the worst people are big businesses, and in comparison with them our tiny pieces of trying to be green look ridiculous, but we have to keep on doing our bit to show mother earth that we do care about her, and in turn she may take pity on us and start healing herself. We are like bricks in a wall, not a lot of use individually but each doing a little bit to hold everything together.

It does hurt when you think about such things. I do feel, however, what we are doing now WILL help. Don't give up on Mother Earth. She's a strong lady! xoxo

One of the biggest problems in North America is the fact that everything is disposable, it has obsolescence built in. Buy it, use it, throw it away. If we as individuals can break that cycle, the land won't be eaten up by gargage dumps quite so quickly, and the atmosphere won't be full of the pollution that is a by product of all this 'plastic' junk.
Keep re-using, recycling, and repairing, we will do it one person at a time, but probably not in our lifetimes.

I know that sometimes it seems hopeless but as the others have said, if we all do our own little part, it all adds up! xoxo

Robyn: Good message - if we don't treat her with respect she can ruffle her feathers and we are in trouble. Did you get that book about Australia yet.

If nothing else, doing what we each can do will make us feel easier about our own place in the world.

I've read some depressing things recently about the state of the planet and the utter futile hugeness of the problems facing her, but no matter, my own personal beliefs about the sanctity of Mother Earth will not let me give up hope that we can make some small difference each on our own.

Makes you wonder if all your hard work will get anywhere...I think it will. You have to keep doing your part Robyn, your actions leave a nice clean trail. Mother Earth will hold you in high esteem! I feel awful if I accidentally throw something out that could have been recycled. I think about it afterwards and it bugs me so I try not to do that.
And just think too, you have inspired all of us to stop and think about our own actions. That is how great things happen!

I think about it a lot -- it's hard to get away from it when you're aware of what's happening. I do my own little bit, and I have to hope that if everyone did their little bit it would add up to something much bigger. xoxo

There is so much one can do Robyn, if just everyone would do what he/she can our environment would be so much better *sigh* (Especially Mr. Bush argh!) Go and become a member of Greenpeace or another environment friendly activists group for example. They are doing so many good things for our planet! I'm a Greenpeace member since 1984 and they have achieved so much since then. Further try and switch to environment friendly power from renewable energy. I have done that finally last month (I haven't had the possibility before ) and I have persuaded lots of friends, neighbours and family members to do the same :D. Buy an environment friendly car next time you wanna buy one, the same with fridge, washing machine etc.pp. Recycle all you can! Well I think you know about all that, but it makes you feel better for sure, when you have done what you can to save the planet for our children and the following generations, although I'll never stop worrying.
Hugs Carol

Wish I could send you some of our surplus of water this week!

For your own peace of mind, also remember the serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

So, you do the things you can do, and let go of the rest. The worry does not help anything, it only makes you unhappy.
