faery Friday
And then, when I had my own children ~ I began to make memories for them, by reading the same book to them at night. They grew up with it and many times as we went on bush walks - we would look for the bush faery folk - mr Lizard the big bad banksia men and little ragged blossom.

Oh my gosh, Ms R, I have a Snugglepot and Cuddlepie book! I bought it at a yard sale several years ago.......why????? I just thought it was adorable. I knew it is an Australian book because it was published in Sydney. I have been meaning to ask you about it, but never got around to it. It was printed in 1949. It includes Little Ragged Blossom and Little Obelia. Its adorable!
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie I love them already. I have got to get hold of a book. I used to feel the same way about the Flower Fairies. They lived under my purple lilac tree when I was a child, and as I have said before, I made them nests, left the presents and food.
It's so funny to come here and see tommorrows date on your blog.. You're in my future and im living in your past..
PEace, Kai
How delightful they sound!! I had never heard of them but will certainly look into the book now! Thank you dear Robyn for making me aware of these two adorable little faerie folks:-) xox
Darling! Yes they are! I love the names! You are such a groovy gal!
Congrats on your Blog of the Day. I love reading your blog very much and if I had known about this you would have had one more vote.

BTW, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie are totally amazing...I will be checking out that book for my little ones. xoxo
Including my innerchild!
Awww, they are so sweet, and the kookaburra too. We should all go back and read our childhood books and try and recapture that magical world we believed in...

These characters - and the books - sound heavenly. Thanks for the introduction! xo
I love and adore childrens books and of course I must have this one to add. The wonderful stories we had read to us, then read ourselves in childhood stay with us forever. if I had had children oh the stories we would have dreamed together. So fabulous your children were able to share this with you.
XOXO
too too too cute!! Those eyes!!
Hi miss*R
I love this post. I know a lot of children's books, but these fairies are new to me. Recently my siblings and I cleaned out our dear parents' house after they passed. We came across books from our childhood. Just the feel and smell took me back to a time when wonder and magic graced my days. It's so meaningful that you passed the magic on to your children.
Gosh Robyn, the memories you revive for me...I still have my original Snugglepot and Cuddlepie book from my childhood, and I think it belonged to my brothers before me. They are 10 years older, so my copy has to be at least 70 years old; and it looks that age too - much read and much loved.
