a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

Location: Katoomba, NSW, Australia

here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

gratitude on Sunday

well this week I must say that I am grateful that I am finally discovering where my oddities come from. I am discovering my roots. It is like I have finally found out who I am - well kind of, guess I will never really know.
Thanks to my dear friend Daisy Lupin and my mum, I have learnt that my great-nana was most probably born in Cornwall - which means that I have Cornish blood flowing through my veins, I am from good old Cornish stock. which explains why I am so drawn to 'witchcraft' - were my ancestors, witches? I am sure they were!

Of course they were Robyn and that also explains the faeries, I mean you know how many faeries and elves are known in Cornwall legend. Now all you need to do is adapt to the seasons being the opposite of Cornish ones, I think that is where your muddle lies, your genetic memory is trying to do the season the celebrations the same as in England, now you must turn them round to the southern hemisphere.xx

How fascinating it must be learning more about your family ancestry. I think there may be a few our past too though they called them wise women - it might have had something to do with that whole witch-hunt thing.

Take care xoxo

I belive in cellular memory, something that comes down to you through your DNA.
You know your g/grandmas name, you could check the UK census, for the dates and places you know, and work back from there. Her female ancestors will not be shown as hedgewitches, but their occupation will surely be an indicator of their following. What fun..!!

Dearest Robyn, how fantastic to gain this knowledge....to have a clearer sense of ones ancestry is such a gift.
I know enough about my own to know that somewhere, some how I branched off or there is some ancestry I am not aware of to explain things that make me SO different from all the rest of my family.
XOXO
