a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

gratitude on Sundays

My Nan was blind - she was diabetic and slowly the disease 'ate' away at her eyes and she slowly became blind. There is not a time that I can remember her being able to see. I am very grateful that I have my sight - without that, I would not be able to see the beauty of my garden nor would I be able to read the lovely blogs out there. so this week I am grateful for my eyes & my sight.

That is too bad what happened to your nan. Diabetes really is a bad thing to have.

I just came over from Tea and Sympathy. You have a very nice blog.

Miss*R,

My girlfriend has just been told she too has Diabetes and she is looking towards it in a very positive view and now is trying to stop it in its tracks I hope she can do it. she is a real fighter.

How sad your grandmother went blind but I am sure she would read this today knowing she set lessons for you and others, knowledge that was not available about this back then. I honour your gandmother with all my heart.

When my mom was diagnosed with macular degeneration, she said she would rather die than go blind. I thought that was a tad over-reactive. I guess because she lived alone and walked everywhere for shopping and read like a maniac, that it would be a difficult transition for her. Thank God, she has not progressed badly, and she can still do the daily things she likes to do. We all deal with what we're given. You must have a lot of your grandmother in you.

We just don't realize how lucky we are to have all our senses...we often times take them for granted until it's taken away from us. My mom has macular degeneration and she's terrified of ending up blind. She also has cataracts and will have to have those removed eventually. I worry for her! xoxox

Thank you for that post. I sometimes need reminders of all I have to be grateful for.

My Dad was diabetic. He didn't go blind but he had constant infections because his circulation was so poor.

Sweetie, that's so sad about your Nan. I, too am very grateful for my vision. My late grandmother also suffered from diabetes and I have a huge fear of developing it and having problems with my eyesight. Because if I had to lose one of my senses, eyesight would not be my preference. xo

Oh yes so true, it's something I'm very grateful for as well! It must be so hard to be blind. Bless!
