a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

jus' playin' around

to get myself out of the 'meaning of life' doldrums that hit me after the funeral - I played. I have been reading the blog of *one crabapple* and one post mentioned how she loved bees - so I immediately thought of a scrap of fabric I had. Sandy also lurves PINK - I had the hottest pink spotted fabric & a collage was born. I used the alphabet stamps and some vintage pink tuille. These aren't perfect, just me playing & having fun. of course, it is not finished - do I need to bind it or something?
so - introducing - queen bee & one crabapple.

Ms Robyn!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness for links on other blogs! I 'lost' you a couple of weeks ago, and looked everywhere...well, I thought I had, then tonight I checked Nicole's blog friend links and there you were! So I have just caught up with everything {{{hugs}}} and will be back reading you regularly again, all going well! You're not on my list on Patra's Place yet - only because I'm too lazy to go back into the dashboard and template to add you! But you're on the other Favorites thingy, and I'll add you back on the blog soon.

Oh Missy Robyn! =^..^=

Your little collage is fantastic! Sandy will be, well ... Tickled Pink that she has influenced your art!

As for perfection? The point seems best made when things aren't perfect...a little bit unfinishedness (is there such a word?) to them is what makes them most wonderful. I once took a watercolor class that opened my eyes to letting go with my tight ::ahem:: rear-end way about art from that moment forward. Ann (Pierce) the instructor had us all take a full sheet of watercolor paper (not cheap stuff & scary for a student budget) and instructed us to use EVERY technique we had learned so far that semester on the one sheet. Wash it! Ink it! Tear up other paintings and paste them to it, take it outside and rub it in the dirt ... Drip candle wax over it! Anything goes! She promised that if we did as she instructed, we would all get an A (no grade worries) and once they were presented to the class, we would be allowed to hide our finished work forever should we wish. Just do the assignment.

I sat for two days in horror. Blank page of white before me. Terified I would make a mistake.

The idea was to get us to let go. Try new things without fear. And it worked. I (and the others) finally began to play. And it was wonderfully freeing. She knew it would be a turning point for many of us (Ann had been teaching for many years.) Smart lady. The best work all year came after that project. I think every one of us in that class moved forward with a great leap. Our work changed forever.

I still have that painting.

I guess my point is that you need not ask if something is right or wrong. There simply is no right or wrong. Try it! Rip it out or leave it and do more! Just move forward.

Sandy (ART TEA LIFE/one crabapple) wrote to me just this morning about taking tiny steps. About how important it is to us to get where we are headed -- Even if we don't know where it is yet. Oh how true! And you KNOW how I stand on taking risks ::giggle:: We may not understand it all at that precise moment in time ... But trust that you are right where you are supposed to be, doing exactly what you are meant to be doing, at every moment. Trust in the interconnectedness of it all!

Isn't destiny a special thing? Like Dan Eldon said about the art of life: The journey IS the destination!

He was living proof.

Keep on, Dear Robyn! Your progress is already apparent. (And I am liking those darling letter stamps! SOoooo kweool!)

You've been a busy gal! It seems I have quite a few posts over here to get caught up on... and after that I have to quell the urge to start collaging everything in sight! This turned out really well, and I love anything with polkadots and alphabet stamping, so this is super cute! OK, off to do some reading now... slow down over there, OK? You're making me feel even lazier than usual! :)
