a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. kindred spirits

I love kindred spirits - those I have met through blogging, as well as the design team from Ohio. KINDRED SPIRITS. I have been a fan of theirs for about 12 years or more and have most of their books & patterns. I was even lucky enough to visit their shop in Dayton, Ohio when I visited the US in 2001. quite exciting! They were lovely ladies and even gave me a piece of their exclusive fabric when I was there because I was sooo far from home. Sometimes they come out here to Australia to do workshops and I hope to get to one next year.
this hanging, I made about 10 years ago and I still love it, even though the background is not something I would use now, I still love the little embroideries. I added a piece of my nan's embroidery that she did before she went blind and an old compact sachet that was hers and a few bits of vintage lace & buttons. in the heart pocket, I did have a bunch of dried roses that my guy gave me years ago but they broke when we moved here.
I am wanting to make another one similar but using some quilties and such that I am playing with now.

catching up with your blog. You have been a busy lady. Wish we had your cool weather and wind. Over 100 F here today. Diva and Davie are doing fine. We had to put a divider wall up in their condo as they didn't want to share a bed yet. Now they touch noses through the railings... Goats!

Oh Robyn, I love this piece. It has so much character! Those little birdies are adorable(gotta love the birdies).

Thank you for sharing some of the history of the quilt. Love how you have incorporated some of your Nan's embroidery. A very special piece.

Looking forward to seeing some of your newer quilties!

Your quilt is adorable. The pieces remind me of a vintage sampler.
