a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

Location: Katoomba, NSW, Australia

here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

oh really miss*R !

I know this is going to come as a shock to some of you - who think that my home is a delightful haven, all tidy and ordered. but sorry no. that is a lie. yes, it is. I am as messy as the next one.
I am trying so hard to be creative again, really I am. But I ask you, just how can a girl work in a mess that is this:

This is my creative mess - where I sew. But I just don't sew, I look for a bit of this and a bit of that and as I do, I don't put it back. The old saying - ' a place for everything and everything in its place' does certainly not apply here. Look at it! I simply must get in a do something about it. This room is off my bedroom and looks over my garden. a truly delightful room but every time I look in - I shudder, close the door and put it into the bowels of my mind.
go here to see more (if you dare):
creative mess

neater than my home right now. With William home and a new baby goat needing attention I haven't done anything inside.

Thanks for sharing some of your creative space.

It must be lovely to create and look over your lovely garden!

Like you I try to be tidy but like to have everything at my fingertips when I am creating and often end up in a mess. So I do understand!

Love the background you are using on your blog of one of Colette's paintings. She is a dear friend of mine too and I am pleased you have found each other.

Looks a similar mess to mine. At the moment I am working out of one of the children's old rooms, [my daughter's] so if she comes to stay I have to tidy and sort. Hope to get the spare room sorted for my crafting etc this autumn.
Love xx

I just had to pop over and say howdy. I love posts like this. The dailies are so peaceful to read about, even the messes. (and btw, this isn't even a mess! a mess has to have dust on it!!!) But I see you're the type who must sit in the middle and have all your pretties surrounding you, eh?

Care to sign up for Housekeeping 101?! Teasing, just teasing! Actually, in a crafty room, isn't messiness the sign of a truly creative soul? That's what I tell myself when I can't find my machine under the piles of craft stuff...

Your craft room is charming! Love the lavender walls and the chintz curtains and your shelving! You are right brained and very creative! True artists are messy in their creation areas...(You should see my little corner!) It is organized CHAOS! I have piles of stuff on the floor and in baskets and on my desk and shelves...I usually can find what I am needing.. when I don't it runs me nutso cause it interupts the "flow". Does anyone else notice this? I even forget to eat when I am in the flow. Wish the flow would come more often hehe. I try to clean it when company comes. Or DH complains about it.

oh I get this way too

until at some point I must clean up and start over again.

I need studio fairies to keep it all in order for me.

My embroidery thread box is a nightmare at times. Then I go thru it all and make it right swearing to myself that I will keep in check...but in a mad fit of creativity it all ends up crazy again ...Thats okay I discover things when I am cleaning up that I forget I have and sometimes that inspires me to go at something entirely new.

Anyway, you are not alone in this!

i see some interesting stuff as I snoop around here thru your things ! Inspiring me.
