a journey of self discovery. You just never know what we might see. Is that a fairy ring under that rowan tree? Look! - a hedgewitch, I wonder what she is brewing in her cauldron today. Oh, and look at that poor menopausal soul, she needs our love & understanding. We may take a stop at the creativity school or a wander through the garden. And maybe, we will take the time machine back to the past! But wherever we go, we will always take time to stop for tea.

book of shadows

remember this?

below is the title page - I dropped wax on it & my birth tag is on it as is a leaf I found on a walk, some dirt (to represent earth) & a picture of Mary * I AM Catholic after all!

in my book of shadows ~ I put pampering recipes & spells ~ to pamper the goddess that I believe I am! I also decorate with pictures from magazines that make my heart sing, some dried herbs & flowers and anything my inner child heart desires.

lace & ribbon to decorate sometimes ~ I love playing with this~

and here is a link to my on*line Book Of Shadows: my BOS

Awesome. I don't know much about BOSs but I always wanted to make a book with giant paper bags or craft paper because I love the look of the one on Charmed and it sounds like it would feel good. lol if that makes sense. I'm sorry if Charmed makes you cringe or anything. I just love the show and it often has helped me see things in a new and fresh perspective which is always cool. I have often applied Charmed "lessons" to my Christian essays. Not always big with the more conservative crowd. LOL Anyway, I love your book. It's so gorgeous and I must try some of the different herbal things. It's really nice of you to share them with us!

Oh, lovely - it looks like it will be a special keepsake when you've filled its pages. How nice to have such a book to retreat to and refer to as your witchy guide. I have my old one on the bookshelf - I calligraphied nearly every page - it is very precious to me though I rarely pick it up these days. I should scan some pages and email them to you.

My BOS is full of bits and pieces that need stuck in and decorated. I keep writing things down on bits of coloured paper and think I'll sort that later. Pages and pages of things on bits of paper inside the book. Well I think I better add that to my to do list. Your posting has worked like a memory jog to me. Love xx

Oh dear Ms Robyn,

have you read Romancing The Ordinary by Sarah Ban Breathnach? There are some lovely pampering spells in there that would be perfect for your book. One of my favourites is called a 'Glamour' and it involves a salt scrub in the shower with lovely oils, a kind of renewal I believe.

Enjoy!

love
